Whether it’s an important exam, a presentation, or a crucial sports competition – we want to be able to perform at our best. Whether we are able to achieve this depends strongly on the arousal level of our brain: if this level is too high, we feel stressed; if it is too low, we may be too sleepy or unable to concentrate on the actual task. Interestingly, the brain’s state of arousal can be estimated from the pupil of the eye. Based on this finding, we have developed a new form of neurofeedback training (myFlow), which is based on the measurement of the pupil and aims to train the arousal level of the brain. By means of this training, this arousal level is to be made tangible and stress reactions and mental performance are to be improved in the long term.
For the Scientifica we are planning a stand action, where visitors will get an insight into the scientific background as well as the connection between the excitation level of the brain and the pupil on the one hand and the individual performance on the other hand. In addition, visitors will have the opportunity to try out our new myFlow neurofeedback training directly on site.
